We are Chartered Professional Engineers based on Auckland's North Shore specializing in the structural design of buildings. 

We’re a small but highly-experienced, professional team who specialise in designing  structures works that will stand up to whatever the forces of nature throw at them.

The depth of our experience means we can bring innovative solutions to your project.

We provide for the design of all building structures in all structural materials including concrete, timber, steel, light steel framing, aluminium and concrete block. We also specialise in the design of buildings using structural insulated sandwich panels (SIPS)

Specializing in Structural Design & Security Engineering

With nearly 40 years’ experience in the industry, Andrew brought a very broad skillset to New Zealand. His recent work here has primarily involved Construction Monitoring of multi-storey precast concrete apartment blocks, the design of new buildings as well as the inspection and appraisal of existing buildings (including seismic assessments). He also managed structural projects from concept to completion, looking after progress, quality, client satisfaction and coordination of all those involved.  

 As a Chartered Civil Engineer, Andrew has held numerous senior and executive level positions across the UK and NZ. His extensive commercial experience includes the design and construction of steel, concrete, composite, timber and masonry structures on new build and refurbishment projects, ranging from the small and traditional to the large and innovative. His work covers the residential, commercial, retail, leisure, medical and defence sectors, with designs in line with British, European, US and New Zealand standards.

As a Technical Specialist in nuclear safety structures, he was responsible for the design reviews and regulatory interfaces of buildings designed to withstand the effects of extreme loading including earthquake, blast, impact and explosives.                                   

Until his migration to New Zealand in 2019, Andrew was providing security and engineering advice to clients requiring multi-disciplined design solutions. Specialist topics include Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM), Counter Terrorism Measures (CTM), Explosive Consequence Analysis (ECA), Probable Maximum Loss (PML) Studies, Human Vulnerability Assessments, and casualty estimates for terrorist scenarios proposed by clients for various sites around the world.

From CEng to CPEng

​In his 24th Seminar for Structural Engineers, Andrew describes his personal journey as a Structural Engineer migrating from the United Kingdom to New Zealand.

 

He discuss the differences in European and New Zealand practice in the construction industry. He also provide some useful resources and share some tips. He then discuss getting chartered through Engineering New Zealand to achieve CPEng status.
